How Much Does Non-Surgical Hair Restoration Cost in Austin?
If you start comparing hair restoration prices in Austin, the numbers can be all over the place.
You might find prescription hair-loss treatment for around $100 a month, PRP for $650 to $950 per treatment, an at-home light therapy device for around $1,500, or a six-month hair restoration program costing several thousand dollars.
The reason for that spread is simple: “non-surgical hair restoration” can describe very different treatment models.
One price may cover medication. Another may cover a single in-office procedure. Another may combine diagnostics, prescription treatment, red light therapy, multiple in-office treatments and follow-up over six months.
So before deciding whether something is reasonably priced, it helps to understand exactly what you’re buying—and what you’re likely to keep paying for after the initial treatment period.
How Much Does Non-Surgical Hair Restoration Cost in Austin?
There isn’t one useful average price.
At the simpler end, prescription medication may cost relatively little each month. Personalized prescription treatment can cost more because testing and customization may be involved.
PRP and other in-office treatments are usually priced by the session or package. Current Austin-area PRP pricing we found ranges from $650 to $950 per treatment, with initial treatment courses often running into several thousand dollars.
Red light therapy may be sold through a monthly membership, an in-office package or an at-home device.
And comprehensive hair-restoration programs can cost $3,000, $5,000 or more because they combine several of those approaches rather than relying on one treatment alone.
At Flycatcher, our six-month GetHairMD programs currently range from $3,000 to $8,000, depending on the stage of hair loss and how intensive the initial treatment plan is.
The important question isn’t simply, “Which number is lowest?”
It’s what is included for that price.

Think About Hair Restoration Cost Over a Year
One of the easiest ways to misread hair-restoration pricing is to compare a monthly price with a per-treatment price or a six-month program price.
Consider a few examples.
At Flycatcher, HairCodeRx genomic testing costs $399, and the personalized prescription topical that follows is approximately $99 per month. If that were the only treatment someone used for 12 months, his first-year cost would be about $1,587.
Our Unlimited Red Light Therapy Membership costs $279 per month, or $3,348 if someone remains a member for a year.
Our Dual Wave Energy Cap, which allows red light therapy to be done at home, costs $1,499 as an upfront purchase.
Those numbers represent three very different things: an ongoing prescription, ongoing access to in-clinic treatment and ownership of an at-home treatment device.
That’s why we think six-month and 12-month cost are much more useful than simply comparing the number printed beside a treatment.
The same principle becomes particularly important with PRP.

What Does PRP Hair Restoration Cost in Austin?
PRP is one of the easiest hair-restoration treatments to price-shop locally because a number of Austin providers publish their rates.
As of September 2026, W Aesthetics lists PRP/PRF hair restoration at $650 per treatment.[1]
Skin Pharm in West Lake Hills lists PRP hair restoration at $900 for one treatment or $2,475 for a package of three.[2]
Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center lists hair-restoration PRP at $950 per session and describes an initial course of three to four sessions, putting that initial treatment period at approximately $2,850 to $3,800 before maintenance.[3]
Prices and promotions can change, but those published Austin-area prices provide a useful benchmark: an initial PRP treatment course can easily become a several-thousand-dollar investment.
That’s very different from seeing “PRP: $650” and assuming you’ve found the total cost.
PRP and CryoWave Have Different Pricing Models
We don’t offer PRP at Flycatcher. For our in-office scalp treatments, we use CryoWave CX, a needle-free treatment that we pair with either TrichoBoost Serum or VITTI-PURE Serum depending on the treatment plan.
Our current à la carte pricing is:
- CryoWave + TrichoBoost Serum: $399 per treatment
- CryoWave + VITTI-PURE Serum: $629 per treatment
The biggest pricing distinction is that we don’t usually think of CryoWave as a stand-alone answer to hair loss.
We typically use it alongside other components such as prescription treatment, red light therapy and ongoing HairMetrix measurement. How frequently we use CryoWave depends on how aggressively we’re treating the hair loss.
That means comparing a three-treatment PRP package with a six-month GetHairMD program isn’t really a procedure-to-procedure comparison. One may primarily purchase a series of PRP treatments; the other may purchase an entire treatment plan.
What Do Prescription Hair-Loss Treatments Cost?
Medication can be one of the most affordable ways to address hair loss.
Generic medications such as finasteride and minoxidil are widely available through physicians, pharmacies and online telehealth companies. Depending on the medication and provider, a simple medication-only approach can cost substantially less than office-based treatments.
And for some men, that may be all they need or all they want.
At Flycatcher, we take a more personalized prescription approach.
Our HairCodeRx genomic cheek-swab test costs $399. We use the test results as part of the process for creating a personalized prescription topical, which costs approximately $99 per month.
That puts HairCodeRx plus 12 months of the personalized topical at approximately $1,587 during the first year.
So why might someone spend more than he would through a basic telehealth service?
He’s purchasing a different level of personalization and management—not simply a more expensive bottle of hair-loss medication.

What Does Red Light Therapy for Hair Growth Cost?

Red light therapy presents another choice because it can be done frequently in the clinic or with certain devices at home.
At Flycatcher, our Unlimited Red Light Therapy Membership costs $279 per month and provides regular access to our Clinical Hair Growth Laser.
For someone who likes coming into the office and wants the structure of regular treatments, the membership can make sense.
Someone who travels frequently, lives farther away or simply wants to treat at home may prefer our Dual Wave Energy Cap, which costs $1,499.
The cap requires more money upfront, but there is no monthly treatment membership attached to the device.
Neither model is automatically the better value. The better value is often the one you’ll actually use consistently.

Why Do Comprehensive Hair-Restoration Programs Cost More?
This is where hair-restoration pricing can become confusing.
A $5,000 program can sound expensive next to a $650 PRP treatment or a $99 monthly prescription until you look at what the program actually includes.
A comprehensive program may combine several layers of treatment:
- HairMetrix diagnostics and baseline measurements
- HairCodeRx genomic testing and personalized prescription treatment
- In-clinic red light therapy
- CryoWave CX treatments with TrichoBoost Serum and/or VITTI-PURE Serum
- At-home light therapy
- Follow-up HairMetrix analysis and treatment-plan adjustments
At Flycatcher, we use HairMetrix to establish objective baseline measurements such as hair density, average hair diameter and the ratio of vellus to terminal hairs.
We typically repeat the analysis every four to six months so we can see what’s actually changing and adjust the treatment plan when appropriate.
That’s part of what someone is paying for in a managed program.

What Do Flycatcher’s $3,000, $5,000 and $8,000 Programs Include?
Our GetHairMD programs are built around an initial six-month treatment period.
They aren’t intended to function as a good/better/best menu where everyone should choose the most expensive option. The treatment intensity changes according to the patient’s hair loss.
Basic Defense — $3,000
Our Basic Defense program is designed for prevention and earlier-stage hair loss.
It combines HairMetrix analysis, HairCodeRx testing, six months of personalized prescription topical treatment, clinical red light therapy and three CryoWave + VITTI-PURE Serum treatments.
Mid-Stage Recovery — $5,000
For more established hair loss, our Mid-Stage Recovery program increases the treatment intensity.
It includes the same diagnostic and prescription foundation, along with unlimited Clinical Hair Growth Laser treatment and additional CryoWave sessions using both TrichoBoost Serum and VITTI-PURE Serum.
Ultimate Restoration — $8,000
Ultimate Restoration is our most aggressive six-month nonsurgical program.
It adds still more CryoWave treatment with TrichoBoost Serum and VITTI-PURE Serum and includes the Dual Wave Energy Cap so red light therapy can continue at home as well as in the clinic.
The difference in price isn’t that we’re charging increasingly more for the same treatment. We’re adding treatment modalities and increasing treatment frequency as the plan becomes more aggressive.

What Happens After the First Six Months?
The $3,000, $5,000 and $8,000 prices cover the initial six-month GetHairMD programs.
That doesn’t mean month seven starts another identical six-month program.
Hair restoration usually shifts from an initial treatment phase into maintenance.
At Flycatcher, our first priority is typically continuing the personalized prescription topical. At approximately $99 per month, that’s usually the most important ongoing expense.
Next comes continued light therapy. Depending on the patient, that could mean our $279-per-month in-clinic membership, the $1,499 Dual Wave Energy Cap at home, or sometimes a combination.
The third priority may be periodic CryoWave + TrichoBoost Serum treatment. Instead of the more frequent treatments used during an initial program, maintenance might occur quarterly or semiannually.
And every four to six months, we can repeat HairMetrix and see whether the plan still makes sense.
Your first six months may be the most treatment-intensive part of the process. Your ongoing maintenance plan doesn’t necessarily need to look—or cost—the same.
How Does Non-Surgical Hair Restoration Cost Compare With a Hair Transplant?
A hair transplant is a different financial decision because it is surgery rather than ongoing nonsurgical treatment.
It also solves a somewhat different problem.
Nonsurgical treatment is generally focused on preserving and improving hair follicles that are still present. A transplant physically moves follicles from a donor area to an area where greater coverage is needed.
We don’t perform hair transplants at Flycatcher.
For some men with more advanced hair loss, surgery may ultimately make more sense than continuing to invest in increasingly aggressive nonsurgical treatment.
For others—particularly men trying to preserve existing hair or address earlier thinning—a nonsurgical approach may be entirely appropriate.
We’ve broken down local surgical pricing separately in How Much Do Hair Transplants Cost in Austin? rather than turning this article into a transplant-cost guide.
Questions to Ask Before Comparing Hair-Restoration Prices
Before comparing two prices, make sure you’re actually comparing the same thing.
- Is this the price for one treatment or the recommended treatment course?
- What treatments, prescriptions, testing and follow-up are included?
- What should I expect to spend during the first six months and first year?
- What will I probably need to continue afterward?
- What does maintenance typically cost?
- How will you measure whether I’m responding to treatment?
- If I’m not responding, how will the plan change?
- At what point would you recommend a different approach rather than continuing to spend money on the current one?
Those answers usually tell you far more about value than the advertised price alone.
So, How Much Should You Expect to Spend?
For nonsurgical hair restoration in Austin, the answer can range from relatively inexpensive monthly medication to several thousand dollars for an initial treatment course or comprehensive program.
A medication-only approach may make perfect sense for some men.
An Austin PRP series may run several thousand dollars once multiple sessions are considered.
Red light therapy may involve a monthly membership or a larger upfront device purchase.
And a comprehensive multimodal program may cost more because you’re paying for diagnostics, prescription treatment, multiple treatment technologies and ongoing measurement together.
The goal isn’t to find the least expensive plan or the most aggressive one. It’s to understand exactly what you’re paying for and choose an approach that makes sense for your hair, your goals and your budget.
Not Sure Where You Fit?
You don’t need to decide between a $99 prescription, PRP, red light therapy or a $5,000 program before anyone has looked at your hair.
